Glass-Lined & Corrosion-Resistant Equipment

Glass-lined reactors, borosilicate glass systems and PTFE-lined packages are the workhorses of acid, solvent and high-purity duty in API and fine-chemical plants — and the equipment most often damaged by the wrong material call, a rough installation or a thermal-shock the operating SOP never warned against. We bring the selection, inspection, handling and lining-care discipline these systems demand, from datasheet to running plant.

Glass-Lined & Corrosion-Resistant Equipment — process plant
Capabilities

Each capability is named, scoped and tied to a deliverable.

Material & Compatibility Selection

Direct

Glass lining, borosilicate glass, PTFE/PFA/FEP, graphite and stainless steel matched to acids, alkalis, solvents, chlorides and contamination-sensitive products — against process chemistry and OEM duty limits.

Deliverable received
OutputA material-of-construction matrix and compatibility review for every wetted part, tied to the specific service.

Duty & Configuration Review

Direct

Pressure, vacuum, temperature, thermal-shock and agitation duty checked against OEM limits; nozzle orientation, manway, charging, vent, drain, sampling, dip-pipe, thermowell, baffle and agitator arrangement reviewed for the process.

Deliverable received
OutputA datasheet and configuration review with thermal-shock and agitation limits made explicit before the order.

Equipment Scope Covered

Direct

Glass-lined reactors, receivers, storage vessels and nutsche filters; borosilicate reactors, columns, condensers, scrubbers, separators and solvent-recovery assemblies; glass piping, sight glasses and PTFE-lined valves, hoses, bellows and gaskets.

Deliverable received
OutputA consolidated equipment list and specification across glass, glass-lined and corrosion-resistant accessories.

Vendor Review & Quality Checks

Coordination

Vendor prequalification, RFQ and technical comparison; review of lining thickness, spark/holiday test and visual inspection; certificates, test and inspection reports, warranty terms and recommended spares; FAT and inspection-call coordination where applicable.

Deliverable received
OutputA vendor-drawing review, inspection checklist and spares list before equipment leaves the works.

Installation & Commissioning

Direct

Site-readiness, unloading, storage and lifting method statements for fragile glass and glass-lined equipment; positioning, levelling and nozzle-orientation verification; protected handling to avoid impact, chipped nozzles and joint stress; gasket selection and torque-controlled flange assembly per OEM guidance.

Deliverable received
OutputA handling and commissioning protocol with leak, vacuum-hold and water-trial coordination through to punch-point closure.

Operations, Maintenance & Lining Care

Direct

Operating SOPs for charging, heating, cooling, agitation, vacuum, venting, draining and cleaning; safe temperature ramp-up/ramp-down and thermal-shock prevention; periodic lining inspection, spark testing and gasket/seal replacement planning.

Deliverable received
OutputA preventive-maintenance and lining-inspection schedule that keeps the lining intact and the equipment in service.

Safety, Static & Risk Control

Direct

Earthing, bonding and static-charge control for solvent and flammable service; thermal-shock and over-pressure risk review; safe-handling and breakage-response practices; integration with vacuum, scrubber, condenser and nitrogen safety systems.

Deliverable received
OutputA risk register and earthing/bonding review for glass and glass-lined systems in flammable-chemical service.
Operating Experience

Glass-lined and borosilicate equipment sits at the centre of the acid-handling, solvent-recovery and distillation duty that defines our home sectors — bulk-drug API, fine chemicals and agrochemicals. The judgement here is earned on the plant floor: where linings fail, how a careless lift writes off a reactor, and which thermal-shock the SOP forgot to forbid.
